Two jobs stops for Kasich

Gov. John Kasich made two economic-development announcements today in southwestern Ohio, one for up to 43 jobs at startup Bioformix Inc. in Loveland and another for 50 new jobs with Kao USA in Cincinnati.
Bioformix, a 22-month-old “sustainable polymers” company with venture-capital backing, is establishing its headquarters, moving about 15 employees from Connecticut, and creating an additional 10 to 12 jobs by June in suburban Cincinnati, company President and CEO Adam Malofsky said. The jobs come with average salaries of $90,000 per year, according to Malofsky and Kasich's staff. Last month, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved a multi-year, 50-percent tax credit for the company.
Kao USA, a manufacturer of beauty care brands, is relocating some research and development operations from Japan to Cincinnati, according to Kasich’s staff. Kao would get a $50,000 worker training grant and have its current tax credit extended if its deal with Kasich is approved by the state.
