Two Ohioans Among Obama's Campaign Co-Chairs

President Barack Obama has named 35 national co-chairs for his re-election campaign – and the list includes two Ohioans.

Former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland and Warren resident Elaine Price, a retiree and Obama for America volunteer leader, are part of a diverse group of co-chairs that, according to the Obama campaign "will serve as ambassadors for the President, advise the campaign on key issues, and help engage and mobilize voters in all 50 states.”

The group also includes politicos – Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., and Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee – and celebrities, such as actress Eva Longoria and actor Kalpen Modi, an actor and former White House aide best known for his role in the “Harold and Kumar” movies.

There are also regular folks like Price: Sai Iyer, a student at Virginia Commonwealth University and an Obama for America volunteer and Felisia Martin, an Obama For America volunteer for Wisconsin.

Oh, and there are people who bridge a few of those worlds – Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of John F. Kennedy, is on the list.
In a release announcing the co-chairs, Price said she is committed to working to secure a second term for Obama.

“In a time of great uncertainty, President Obama stepped up and saved our community from a depression and rescued the auto industry – our region’s biggest employer,” she said. “Now we are growing and the American auto industry is again leading the world. Both my community and everyone I speak with feels like they have a new lease on life.”
