Strong Republican Party needed to keep governments in balance
The Feb. 14 Dispatch article "Vanishing species?" was good but should have been more insightful about the dilemma of the Franklin County Republican Party. I am a Democrat by heritage, instinct and a belief that government can and should be used to make America better. The other side of the coin is that it is absolutely essential to American democracy to have two healthy and vibrant political parties.
