COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio says he's hopeful the presidential
battle in his Democratic party will work itself out soon.
In live interviews on Columbus television stations, Brown said Thursday morning that the nomination fight between Barack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be decided before the Democratic convention in August. The senator told WSYX-TV the two candidates are very similar on the issues, and he'd be happy with either as president. Brown hasn't made an endorsement but says he expects to do that within the next month.

The weather stays pretty temperate in Washington most of the time until late into the fall, so it is a great season to visit the nation's capital, stroll along the National Mall and gaze at the leaves while you check out the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument and other treasures.
