Poll: Palin helping McCain in Ohio

THE POLL: Suffolk University poll, presidential race in Ohio (20 electoral votes) among likely
voters.
THE NUMBERS: John McCain 46 percent, Barack Obama 42 percent. OF INTEREST: More people, 31 percent, said they identified with Palin than the other candidates. About the same number said Obama or McCain was most like them. McCain was viewed as more trustworthy while Obama was seen as the candidate who understands and cares about their problems. The poll found voters thought Obama had the best plan to bring jobs to the state while McCain was most likely to cut taxes. DETAILS: The poll was conducted from Sept. 10-13. It involved telephone interviews with 600 likely voters in Ohio, with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 points. Story toolsToday’s Top Stories
