THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH
DELAWARE, Ohio -- Buckeye Valley Superintendent John Schiller will retire from the Delaware
County school district when his contract ends next summer.
When Schiller, 63, accepted the post in 2003, he said he planned to stay about six years. Schiller said he announced his retirement plans this week to allow the school board enough time to search for his replacement. The board is scheduled to vote to accept Schiller's retirement at its Nov. 17 meeting. This will be the second retirement for Schiller, who was superintendent of the Liberty Union-Thurston district in Fairfield County from 1991 to 2003. Schiller also has worked as teacher, administrator and football coach in the Reynoldsburg district and the Belmont County district of Bridgeport. Schiller's retirement from Buckeye Valley, a district of about 2,300 students, will be effective July 31, 2010. Story toolsToday’s Top Stories
